Writers need readers…but so does everyone…

As a writer and poet, I put words on paper because that’s part of what energizes me.  I would write even if no one read my words.  But I have to admit, getting published and sharing my thoughts and stories has been fun  😉

But what if a large percentage of the population couldn’t read or understand what I wrote?  Unfortunately, in some places that’s not such a stretch.

While I can’t imagine not reading just from the pure enjoyment of it, there are other practical reasons for reading.  A Writer’s Window opens to an organization’s view that reading is more than a writer’s wish and it is doing something about it.

Free books! Really? Yes, really.  Take a Field Trip with me and read all about it.

‘Reading is FUNdamental’ ‘Reading with Rachel’ ‘Reading. Writing. ‘Rithmetic’ We’re familiar with those catch phrases.  Cottage Quotes has a new one.

And for my fellow readers, On the Bookshelf is this week’s nonfiction selection.  Whenever I think I can’t do something, it’s a book like this that smacks me in the head and tells me to get over it.  It’s a book of amazing hope and determination.

Happy reading!
